JT Macken Salon is named after owner, Shauna’s, grandfather, James Tormey Macken. Shauna’s mom chose the name when she opened the salon in 2012. He was her biggest supporter in her career. A daily visit to her salon, caring for her window boxes and greeting her clients made him happy! 

Nestled in the heart of Winthrop, Massachusetts, just a stone's throw away from bustling Boston, lies our sun-soaked studio. We have a collection of talented independent stylists that share the same passion for hair. As a client, you’ll have a relaxed, warm experience and leave with dreamy hair, feeling recharged and empowered.

JT Macken is a full service hair salon and our team of talented stylists specialize in custom hair coloring, focusing on lived in looks, balayage and smoothing treatments. Our guests are our main focus in the salon, making sure you not only love your hair but that you are comfortable and have a great experience as soon as you walk through the door!
